Pattra Wongsuwan, born 1988, lives and works in Bangkok. Her abstractions start from remembered light and weather rather than any observed view.
This is the largest canvas she has made to date. Dozens of scraped layers of grey-blue build a depth like looking through a curtain of rain, and the lower edge is left as raw canvas on purpose, so the picture stays open, as if the rain had only just stopped.
Details: Acrylic on canvas · 180 × 240 cm · signed and dated 2023 on the reverse
Condition: Excellent. On the artist's original stretcher, no restoration.
Provenance: Consigned directly from the artist's studio, Bangkok.
